How to Use DVI

Build trust and transparency with your customers, and increase your ARO while doing it.

1. Initiate the Inspection

  • Access the work order via QR code or the desktop tab.
  • Select the "Start DVI tool" button within the work order to begin.

2. Configure Vehicle & Technician Details

  • Confirm the vehicle information that is automatically imported by the system.
  • Enter the current mileage to determine required services (e.g., oil changes).
  • Select the specific vehicle type (e.g., "Dually" vs. "Car"). This selection automatically adjusts service fields, such as the number of tires and brakes.
  • Verify the Service Writer information, which is pulled from the work order by default (this can be manually overridden if necessary).

3. Conduct the Inspection

  • Use the color-coded indicator system (Green, Yellow, Red) to record measurements, such as tire tread depth.
  • Enter technician notes.
    • Note on Language: Text typed by the technician will remain in the original language until the customer toggles the "Translate" button on their view.

4. Pricing & Summarization

  • Review the AI-generated pricing populated in the tool.
  • Manually edit any pricing fields as needed to ensure shop-specific accuracy.
  • The system will compile an AI-generated summary for the customer based on your inputs and technician notes.

5. Customer Consent

  • Once the inspection is complete, send the DVI to the customer.
  • Wait for the customer to review the inspection and provide consent before beginning any work. You'll receive an email when they have approved services.
