Unlocking the full power of your website: your checklist for success

Our goal is to build a website that drives more traffic, more customers, and more sales. To deliver those results, we’ll need two things from you before we get started on the build.

1. Your Google Business Profile for your stores or business.

Your Google Place ID, which is part of you Business Profile is the single most important piece of information we need to build a high-performing website for your shop. It connects your business to Google’s ecosystem so your customers can find you, trust you, and buy from you—across search, reviews, and soon, booking.

2. Your Domain.

This is the web address customers will use to find your business online (ex: www.ABCtireshop.com). Owning your domain ensures you have full control of your brand, improves your online visibility, and allows us to launch your site on a secure, professional URL. If you don't already have one, please ask us for assistance and we can help you. You can also purchase a domain on your own at the sites listed below.

How to create a Google ID for your business

To create a Google Business Profile, go to google.com/business, sign in with a Google account, and follow the prompts to enter your business name, category, and location. After providing your contact information, you'll need to verify your business, often via a postcard, phone call, or text message. Once verified, complete your profile by adding hours, a description, photos, and services to help customers find and connect with you.

Step 1: Start the profile
Go to the Google Business Profile site: Navigate to google.com/business or business.google.com/add.
Sign in: Log in with a Google account. If you don't have one, you can create one.
Find or add your business: Search for your business name. If it appears, click "Manage now" to claim it. If not, click "Add your business to Google".

Step 2: Enter your business information
Enter your business name and select the most accurate category from the suggestions.
Choose if you have a physical location for customers to visit or if you're a service-area business.
Add your address if applicable, and fill in your service area if you deliver to customers.
Provide your phone number and website.

Step 3: Verify your business
Google needs to confirm that you own the business. You'll be prompted to select a verification method.
The most common method for new businesses is receiving a postcard with a verification code at your business address. Other methods may include phone or text.
Follow the on-screen instructions for your chosen method.

Step 4: Complete and optimize your profile
While waiting for verification, start filling out the rest of your profile.
Add business hours: Be sure to provide accurate opening and closing times.
Write a description: Clearly describe what your business does, using relevant keywords.
Add photos: Upload photos of your storefront and team to make your profile more engaging.
List services and attributes: Add a list of your services and any attributes that are relevant to your business.
